• ISV product replacement: If you are facing high upgrade fees or high maintenance fees for ISV products, then let Farsight Systems Corporation build a replacement product for you.



• New product development: If you cannot find a mainframe product that does what you want (or at a price that you want), then let Farsight Systems Corporation build a new custom mainframe product that's just right for you.

Here is the deal:

• We work with you to determine the product requirements. What features are "must have" versus "nice to have" versus "can live without"?
• For a product replacement project, we work with you to determine how to deliver a replacement product that is cost effective compared to your anticipated upgrade and maintenance fees. We try to align our development costs so that you save money by dropping the big ISV product when you come with us.
• For a new product development project, we work with you to determine the features and benefits, and what value you place on those benefits. Working together, we arrive at a mutually beneficial funding schedule.
• Payment is made at contract signing to cover our project initiation costs. Payments are made at the various project milestones. Final completion payment is made when you accept the final deliverable. You are also billed for any reasonable expenses and you will know these expenses in advance before the work begins. No surprises.
• We have our own IBM z/OS mainframe development system. You may also provide data center access to your development system, so that we can better tune the product to your specific needs and procedures. You can help reduce costs and improve delivery dates by providing modest office space (desk, chair, phone, and mainframe logon) and data center access. For out-of-state clients, we can arrange for remote access to your data center development system.
• Farsight Systems Corporation retains full ownership of the mainframe product and the full rights to remarket the product to other companies.
• In exchange for your funding of the project, you receive a perpetual site license for the product (no upgrade fees!), a sweetheart deal on maintenance fees, and source code escrow.

Using the Time Value of Money (TVM), you can see how much leverage you can get from a deal like this!

If you know of other companies that also want a similar product, then we can work out a consortium deal where the multiple companies share the development expenses in exchange for perpetual site licenses and sweetheart maintenance fees. For larger projects, this is an excellent alternative to covering the costs alone. This is TVM leverage to the extreme!
